Those who witnessed the rise of the video game industry in the 1980’s, must be well aware of, and in fact must have had the first hand experience of playing the massively popular arcade game Bubble Bobble. Originally released in 1986, this unique offering from Japan based Taito was indeed the biggest achievement bagged by the firm throughout its existence. Such was the popularity of Bubble Bobble that it was eventually re-made a number of times- with new versions of the game hitting the market even today, after 25 years since it was first launched. Bubble Bobble: The New Adventures 1.6 is such a game from the house Bubble Bobble Games, which has done quite well amongst myriad of other similar games for near about four years now. Though based on the same Bubble Bobble concept, the game brings along with it a string of new features as well as enhanced gameplay.
Upon being launched, Bubble Bobble: The New Adventures 1.6 opens up with a pretty neat and visually pleasing interface in blue and green with the main options and statistics are located towards the top and top-left parts of the gameplay window. Controls are basically same as the previous editions Bubble Bobble games, and just like all its predecessors, this main plot of this arcade game also revolves around the two dragons- Bub and Bob. Though they look cute and innocent, Bub and Bob are two really smart dragons with all the potential to take a head on against and defeat all the evil forces present in their little world. However, its up to you to use their power with the utmost effectiveness and guide them out of every trouble they come across in their journey.
All in all, as a nice remake of the original version of the game, Bubble Bobble: The New Adventures 1.6 certainly deserves a score of three and a half points on the scale of five.
